george1A group from UK bathroom titan, Kohler Mira, was recently in town and they have not been able to stop talking about the great time that THE DMC staff showed them in and around Hong Kong.

While they were here they enjoyed an exclusive Hong Kong tram cocktail tour followed by dinner at Ovolugue; THE DMC Sampan Tour and lunch at the TopDeck; Peak Tram and Dinner at the Pearl on the Peak with all the trimmings; A Shenzhen Shopping Tour, followed by dinner at Aqua; topped off by THE DMC’s Insiders Tour of Kowloon, with lunch at the Jade Garden and dinner at The Quarterdeck, before heading back to the UK.

It was a very exciting and busy four days for all.

“It was the experience of a lifetime”, Ciara Nolan, Regional Sales manager for Mira Ireland wrote. “  Your kindness and most importantly your quiet patience at any of the “high maintenance or over excited moments” made it a pleasure to spend time with you - especially George – he has become a legend in our office already!!!!

Now we know that some girls’ don’t like to be reminded of their birthday’s, but how could Adrianne resist the heart felt enthusiasm and good wishes from all of her team. We were careful not to ask just which birthday it was we were celebrating though!

That’s Entertainment

August 19th, 2010

DMC knows how to show you the best time!

dmc_cp_0824A typical night’s entertainment with DMC usually starts with an exotic location and cocktail or two. You might find yourself perched high above Hong Kong on an open terrace at the Peak, or sailing across Hong Kong harbour on a traditional Chinese fishing junk taking in the dazzling light and laser show against the backdrop of towering high rise and city lights.

Then a meal in an exclusive restaurant is where the show really gets underway.  As an appetizer a group of Chinese artists create personalized gifts and souvenirs, with the main course followed by  Master Magician Harry Wong, who  delights and confounds  with his  fast paced patter and sleight of hand.

dmc_cp_0343The finale arrives with dessert as the wine sommelier and waiters burst into rigorous renditions of classic songs and operettas, surprising and enchanting guests for the rest of the evening.  The ’ Singing Waiters’ had been masquerading as staff and were actually members of a professional entertainment group  - another specially arranged and exclusive DMC  experience

Aberdeen Sampan Tour

August 19th, 2010

All aboard for DMC’s sampan tour of Hong Kong’s famous Aberdeen Harbour.!

dmc_sampan_tour_0226The sampans have plied the waters of Aberdeen delivering folk from ship to shore ever since the first fishing junk sunk anchor here hundreds of years before the British Hongs ever set foot on the island. Today they do a re brisk trade in ferrying tourists and their cameras among colourful and lively array of fishing boats, shipyards and multimillion dollar pleasure craft.

dmc_sampan_tour_0097DMC add their own special touch to create a five star experience all the way. Black tied waiters serve chilled wine and Chinese beer while a DMC guide to point out the sites and best photo opportunities during the 30-minute trip. Another fabulous DMC experience. See Gallery

2010 Bledisloe Cup Hotel Packages from HK$3,812

July 19th, 2010

dmc_bc2DMC -THE Destination Management Company Hong Kong has been appointed by the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union (HKRFU) to sell Hotel and Reserved Seating Packages to this popular international one-of-a-kind sports event.

Founded in 1931, the Bledisloe Cup celebrates the hard fought rivalry between legendary international rugby giants, the Australian Wallabies and New Zealand’s All Blacks. Traditionally the Bledisloe Cup has always been played on home ground, but 2008 saw a match played outside the two countries for the first time in Hong Kong and then again in Tokyo in 2009.

This year the Bledisloe Cup returns to Hong Kong on Saturday, October 30, for the fast and furious fourth and final round. The All Blacks have taken the Cup home for the past six consecutive series and this year Australia intends to end this winning streak.

Will 2010 be the year of the Wallabies?

Be there to find out.

What do you do on a rainy day in Hong Kong?

June 13th, 2010

Why DMC’s Amazing Race of course!

dmc_0985DMC recently showed 25 travel agents from Australia and New Zealand the cultural highlights of Tsim ShaTsui as only DMC can.  The agents from Down Under were visiting Hong Kong as guests of the Hong Kong Tourism Board to take in the sights and get the lowdown on Hong Kong’s latest attractions. So what better way to get to the inside scoop than a treasure hunt through the streets of Kowloon, taking in the Temple Street Market, the Jade Market, Tin Ha Temple, Flower and Bird Streets.

Despite monsoon showers the group split into five teams, maps and clue sheets in hand, and managed to navigate from cultural icon to cultural icon with fun and flair before returning to a the warm hospitality and a buffet lunch at Delaney’s Irish Pub. See Gallery

Who do you call?

May 24th, 2010

hong-kong-by-night3What do you do when you have 60 guests booked  for Hong Kong’s premier Harbour Cruise for champagne and cocktails to view  the fabulous City of Lights laser and light show, and suddenly the  Cruise Operator cancels because of torrential rain and thunderstorms?

You make sure your Destination Management Company is THE DMC.

THE DMC recently had exactly that happen. They had 60 guests from a South African bank an hour away from boarding the coaches to take them to  board  a private junk for Harbour Cruise and Cocktails when the skies opened, a Weather Alert was issued  and all harbour cruises were cancelled.

What to do?

A couple of fast phone calls and the coaches were re-routed to Quarterdeck on the Wanchai waterfront. DJ’s were dispatched, staff mobilized and THE DMC’s guests found themselves at one of Hong Kong’s top harbour-side restaurants , champagne and cocktails flowing and, once the rain stopped, overlooking the sparkling lights of Victoria Harbour where they danced the night away.
